Photovoltaic Development in Aachen

Novellop Technologies develops advanced solar cell technologies at the intersection of scientific research and industrial application. Our location in Aachen provides direct access to academic partners and the established photovoltaic and aerospace industries in the Euregio.

Technology Development with Academic Partners

Novellop Technologies was founded to translate scientific concepts from semiconductor physics and materials science into functional prototypes. Our focus is not on basic research, but on the development of manufacturing processes that can be implemented on an industrial scale.
We are working on two parallel development tracks with different time horizons: SiGe:C solar cells as a mid-term technology for terrestrial markets and perovskite modules for the rapidly expanding NewSpace sector.
Close collaboration with leading European research institutions provides access to specialized equipment and scientific expertise that would not be economically viable for a single company to develop on its own.

Our Approach

  • Systematic process development using iterative series of prototypes
  • Early consideration of scalability and manufacturing costs
  • Coordination between academic partners and industrial companies
  • Realistic assessment of market potential and industrialization costs
